Is Your Child not eating properly?Diabetes in Children Most first time mothers think that their child does not know whether he is hungry or not; they think that he is hungry all the times. With this in mind, they feed every half or one hour. This is not good. Note that over-feeding will make the child uncomfortable, he may even vomit, he may have stomach pain or too much gas problem.
If your child is not eating, do not give any incentive or reward for eating, nor make any promises for eating. Also do not punish the child for not eating. Some mothers say:
1. If you eat you will get a surprise gift.
2. If you eat you will get a chocolate.
3. If you don't eat I will not talk to you or I will be angry. Some mothers even take a stick in their hand to force the child to eat.The best thing is to maintain the timings. Serve him food at fixed timings at fixed intervals. Set a separate plate for him when all are eating.
Danger Foods For Children
You should not give honey to infants younger than 1 year age. This is because bacterial spores present in honey can cause infant botulism. In some rare cases, it can cause death. The infants have no beneficial bacteria in their digestive tracts that can control the growth of the bacterium.
You should not give any uncooked food to infants under 1 year age, because uncooked food may contain botulism spores.
Chemicals in foods such as preservatives and colors can be dangerous to children. Simple sausages, cordial and dried fruits may trigger asthma in children. All of these foods contain high levels of sulphites (sulfites).
Researchers in Britain found in 2007 that some chemicals used in food and beverages can make normal kids hyperactive (state of overactiveness). The child may be allergic to some foods. Kiwifruit can cause dangerous allergic reactions in children. Researchers at the University of Southamptom found that children under 5 years of age are likely to suffer symptoms including collapse, breathing difficulties, tingling or itching in the mouth and swelling of the tongue after eating kiwifruit.
The kiwifruit contains a protein (actidine) similar to that found in birtcvh pollen, avocados, bannana, and chestnuts. The study has shown that those who are allergic to peanut, eggs or milk or who suffered from asthma or eczema, has a tendency to allergic to kiwifruit.
