Ingredients

  • Chana dal, 2 cup
  • Rice flour, 2 cup
  • Garalic cloves, 4
  • Turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp
  • Musturd seeds, 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves, 4-5

  • Water hot, 1/2 cup

Preparation

  1. Stuffing
Soak the chana dal in water for 2-3 hours . Put garlic, red chilies, salt and chana dal in a grinder and grind it for 2-3 minutes to make a coarse paste. This makes the filling.
  2. Take rice flour, add hot water slowly and make a soft dough. Then make some small balls fill each of them with the chana dal filling.
  3. Boil 2 cup water in a deep pan, put balls and boil for 10- 15 minutes.
  4. Take out the balls from the water and leave for 15 minutes. Cut the balls with knife into two pieces.
  5. Heat some oil in the frying pan and put mustard seeds. When mustard seeds become dark, put green chili and curry leaves in the pan and mix for about 1/2 minute. Put all the balls in the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes.

Serve the crispy fara with coriander-mint chutney.
