What is plaque? Plaque is a thin film of sticky buildup on the teeth that contains millions of bacteria. It is colorless and is formed everyday on teeth. These bacteria in the plaque produce acids from the sugars in the food we eat that can cause gum disease if not removed regularly.

As plaque is almost invisible, it can be made visible by chewing disclosing tablets or applying food color that will stain the plaque on your teeth, making it easy for you to examine your teeth for plaque and identify the areas.



The following home remedies will get rid of plaque naturally.

  1. Brush Correctly with a good toothpaste Brushing your teeth properly at the inner, outer and chewing surfaces will prevent plaque formation.
  2. Baking Soda
    Put some baking soda on the toothbrush and scrub on the plaque.
  3. Apple Cider Vinegar
    Soak the toothbrush in some vinegar and Brush teeth with a soft toothbrush soaked in apple cider vinegar. Immediately rinse your mouth thoroughly to prevent any damage to the tooth enamel.
  4. Sunflower Seeds
    Ingredients
    Sunflower seeds, 1 teaspoons
    Linden flower or lime flower, 1 teaspoons
    Water, 250 ml
    Mix all the above ingredients to a bowl and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Brush your teeth with the mixture after each meal.
  5. Walnut
    Put the about 10 g walnut shells in some water and boil for 15 minutes. Dip the toothbrush into the mixture and brush the teeth for 5 minutes after each meal.
