In gthe following formulae, the kg refers to the weight of the persion in kilogram and cm to the height in centimeters. The Activity level varies from 1.2 to 2.0 depending on the amount of exercise you do.

You can use these formulae to know how much calories do you need to cut back for your target weight. If you want to lose 1 pound (455g) of weight (that is equivalent about 3500 calories) in say 10 days, then you should cut 350 calories per day or you must burn 350 calories daily.
