Some bodies remain lean and thin, while others gain weight easily. You have inherited. your body type from your parents.
Remember that you can't change your type, height and bone structure, but you can certainly change your body shape and body fat levels.

Body Shapes
Apple Shape Body
When we talk about body shapes, two basic body shapes may be described in addition to female body types of android, gynaeoid, thyroid and lymphatic types: apple shape and pear shape.

Apple shape body stores body fat around the middle, i.e. on abdomen, belly, chest and surrounding internal organs, such as the heart and lungs. The apple shaped people are at the risk of lifestyle related diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, impaired lung function, certain types of cancers and gall bladder disease. People with apple shape body can lose their weight with diet and exercise.
Pear Shape Body

Pear shape body stores fat below the waistline, i.e. on hips and thighs.This fat is less risky than abdominal fat. Pear shaped women have risk of illness with the exception of arthritis. It is difficult for people with pear shape body to lose weight with diet and exercise.
Android, Gynaeoid, Thyroid, Lymphatic Body Types
There are four body types: Android, Gynaeoid, Thyroid and Lymphatic types, each has unique hormonal and metabolic characteristics.
Android, Mesomorph Type
These people have anabolic metabolism, leading to a body building tendency.
Prominent physical & mental strength.
Tend to produce more male hormones than do other body types. Broad shoulders, a large rib cage and strong muscular limbs.
They have narrow pelvis and hips and gain weight in the abdomen & upper part of the body.
Android body types have cellulite in the abdominal area, trunk and upper buttocks.
Thyroid, Ectomorph Type
These people have a high metabolic rate, they can eat generously and need not to worry about weight gain. Their body fat levels are low and have difficulty gaining weight.
These type of people have long limbs with fine, narrow bones.
These body type persons like caffeine, nicotine, artificial sweeteners etc. with few side effects.
Thyroid body types are unlikely to develop cellulite. In some cases, it will be on the buttocks and backs of the thighs.
You should eat food high in calories.
Gynaeoid Type Body
They have predominance of female hormone, estrogen.
These women have overall curved body with good size breast, large buttocks, and curved hips and thighs, but small tapered waist.
In Gynaeoid body type people, excessive oestrogens promote fat deposition around hips, thighs and buttocks, with cellulite.
Gynaeoid body types like foods with fat and sugars.
Low fat diet can result in fat loss from the breasts, shoulders and arms, but not from the buttocks and thighs in persons of such body types.
Lymphatic, Endomorph Type Body
Body type Lymphatic people have very slow metabolic rate.
Weight gain occurs over the entire body very easily, accompanied by a dysfunctional lymphatic system with fluid retention. The bone structure of these body types appears to be absent. This type women appear fatter than their actual weight.
Cellulite is common.
These body type people like dairy products, and do not like any exercise or physical activity.
Their weight loss efforts can be excellent and long lasting.
You should eat less calorie dense foods, frequently but small meals avoiding sugars and junk food. Daily physical activity like brisk walking, biking, will help.
Female Body Shapes
Common female body shapes are given below. The hourglass (narrow waist) is normally considered as the ideal female shape in many countries. But the majority of females have rectangular or banan shape.


Apple Shape (Inverted triangular) females have narrow hips and broader bust and shoulders.
Banana (rectangular) women have waist smaller than the hip and bust measurement.
Pear or Bell (triangle) females have broader hip than their bust measurements.
Hourglass Shape (triangles opposing) women have their hip and bust are almost of equal size but a narrow waist.
